A Great Big Auction Thank You!!
Auction 2010 was a great success! Thanks to all parishioners and friends for their participation as sponsors, auctioneers, volunteers, donors, solicitors, auction goers, high bidders, and committee members. Through this tremendous joint effort – we raised an amazing $24,371.00!
Our guest auctioneer Carol Ritter Wright introduced a “Paddle Call” where bidders committed to a $25, $50, or $100 donation to purchase specific items on Father Wheeland’s Wish List. This new feature raised the necessary funds to purchase a third camera for the live streaming of Masses and sacramental celebrations via the internet. Also, a large screen television was purchased for use by our preschoolers and other educational groups.
In case you haven’t heard, our very own Joe Marinucci held the winning ticket to the Grand Finale Raffle – a $1,500 Charlotte Appliance Shopping Spree! Congratulations Joe!
A good time was had by all! Scroll down to see our photos. And watch for a “Save the Date” for Auction 2011 in mid-May 2011.

There are plenty of great items to bid on including basket donations (typically the hit of this annual event,) music, food and desserts. This event has its own committee, and is always in need of new volunteers each year.
Volunteer Opportunities
Maybe you can help us before the event by helping with solicitation of auction items, organization, evening program, or on the evening of the Auction with set-up, making snacks, clean-up, etc.
Watch the bulletin for more details regarding calls for help needed in specific areas.
Can't be on the Committee?
Here are some ways you can help:
- Make phone calls
- Donate an item or service yourself OR solicit an item or service from someone you know. Items should be new or antiques. Used items may be set aside for the Next to New Sale in June. Be imaginative – we welcome a wide variety of items to appeal to a wide variety of patrons.
- Make a Theme Basket. For example: Beach Basket, Spice Basket, Baby Basket, Pet Basket, etc. Grab an empty basket from the rear vestibule and fill it!
- Pick up donated items that can not be delivered
- Become a table sponsor or ask a business your are familiar with to become one
- Donate a money gift for items that need to be purchased for the evening of the Auction
- Work the night of the Auction
- Bring your friends to the auction!
Let your imagination go!
