I had planned to ask our Finance Committee and our Parish Pastoral Council sometime early in 2009, to launch a Capital Fund Campaign to raise money for Holy Cross Parish and Catholic School Education.

In the following years, 2011 through 2012, there are many anniversaries for our parish to clelbrate; the 140th year of the parish, 130th year of the church, the 45th anniversary of the pastor, and the 105th year of continual Catholic School Education at Holy Cross. The time table has been moved up.

Both our Finance Committee and Holy Cross Parish Pastoral Council have approved the establishment of a Capital Funding Campaign.

Response to Call for On-Going Support
When it was first announced that Holy Cross School was going to be closed, many rallied to be there for the school. Some made pledges, other sent money or checks to help keep the school. In our letter to these supporters, we pointed out ways they could support us for the future.

So far we have a number of people who have indicated that they would be willing to financially support the start up of the school, if that becomes a possibility.

• We have one person who has given $1,000 to be used at the Pastor’s discretion
• We have another parishioner who has given $10,000 to our Tuition Program which supports families who
choose Catholic School Education.

We thank these generous people for their ongoing support.

We hope all of our parishioners will help us in some way.

  1. Sign up to be a Friend of Holy Cross School. This would mean that you would be willing to financially support our efforts to reopen Holy Cross School if and when that becomes possible.
  2. Make a gift or pledge to support the Holy Cross Child Center, and our Summer Adventure and Preschool Wrap around programs.
  3. Make a gift or pledge to help maintain the Holy Cross School Building for our Parish programs. This is essential for the life of the parish, and if we are to be available to reopen as a school day.
  4. Contribute to our Tuition Program which supports families who choose Catholic School Education. While this will not tkae place on our grounds, we still want to be able to support parents who exercise this choice. We need to be able to help those who have financial difficulty with tuition.
  5. Make a gift or pledge to Holy Cross Parish to help it to be financially strong. We are a strong active Parish, but we are always challenged by the ever rising cost of operations.
If interested, just leave a note for, or make a phone call to Father Wheeland.

Father Wheeland also plans to have small meetings of Parishioners who want to financially help the Parish. Please let him know if you would be willing to come to one of the meetings.
