Are you wondering why you are receiving a monthly edition of the Courier at home if you never subscribed?
This was a Diocesan decision in order to improve communication within the Diocese. Each parish is required to pay for this service. Our cost is $19,300 a year. Four times a year we have a collection to help defray this cost, but the collection usually only averages $1,000 each time. Those pink envelopes you receive once in a while with your regular envelopes are your opportunity to help subsidize Holy Cross parish for the cost we incur.
We have received a special $5,000 gift this year to help offset this bill, but are still falling far short.
If you read and enjoy the Courier Journal, please consider helping out by using this pink envelope or by placing some cash in this weekend's second collection.
It is important that every parishioner participate in revitalizing stewardship. Your financial support is critical for the future of the parish and diocesan church. For our Offertory Program we would like to average $11,000 in our regular weekly offering. (Click here to track the progress of our weekly Offertory collections.) As far as your gift of time and talent, you will have to look at what priority you give to the work of ministry.
